We're quickly discovering that giving those in poverty cash is more impactful than most (if not all) other forms of aid whilst respecting the individuals dignity and ability to direct their own lives.

Communities facing extreme poverty know better than anyone what they need to support themselves.

Our members provide a reliable monthly cash income to communities in the most deprived regions worldwide.

Frequently asked questions

What is Moyo?

Moyo raises money and then uses that money to keep people in the poorest regions comfortably above the poverty line by providing them with a sustained and direct monthly income.

How can I receive an income from Moyo?

We work directly with vetted local organisations and reps to reach those who need this income most.

How is the cash distributed?

Money raised is earmarked for distribution to recipients who are signed up to our recipient network.

Each recipient is allocated an amount relative to their situation and their local cost of living. Those with dependents qualify for more.

At the end of each month funds are distributed to recipients retrievable either by bank account, money pickup or mobile money / airtime.

We don't just want to support people for some months and then disappear. The promise is a steady income for as long as it is needed. To ensure this, we'll put 50% of all income raised directly into the distribution pool and keep the other 50% in cash reserves to cover any donor exits.

How can I donate or help raise funds?

We’ll be opening up our philanthropists network shortly before we launch to begin raising funds.

Is this a registered charity?

Moyo is a subsidiary of Kwanda Ltd; a non-profit company limited by guarantee (UK Registration No - 12378728).
